The funeral for Grandpa Barnes was beautiful, touching, and emotional. It was a fitting tribute and farewell to a great man.
Before the funeral. They sure clean up nice.
Grandpa was a veteran of World War II, so he received military honors at his burial, complete with a flag presentation, a trumpeter playing Taps, and a gun salute. It was amazing.
Once a Marine, always a Marine
Paying our final respects:
My sweet nephew Jarrett was very emotional.
I sure love these two guys.
Following the graveside service, we visited the grave of my sister Amanda, who died as an infant. My little Amanda wanted to leave some flowers for her namesake.
Grandpa will certainly be missed, but he's left behind an amazing legacy.
