I'm back from the Big Apple! We had a great time, but it sure is nice to be home. I got home last night after a LONG day of travel. It took about 15 hours total from the time I left the NY apartment to the time I got home. There's just nothing quite like flying across the country, then having to drive for another five hours to get home! Bill did great managing the kids (including a stomach flu stricken Joshua and Amanda) and the house during my absence, but I think he was pretty close to his breaking point by the time I walked in the door. Thanks for being so supportive Bill! I loved the reception I got from the kids. They just smothered me with kisses and hugs and snuggles. Today Joshua just keeps looking at me and saying, "Mama, I love you!" I guess absence really does make the heart grow fonder (at least temporarily).
Now comes one of the hardest parts of going on vacation: re-entry into regular life. Does anyone else ever feel like you need a vacation to recover from your vacation? Today I've been so tired and lazy all I've really done is lounge on the couch and read. I don't even want to think about unpacking and laundry and everything else that needs to be done. Anyway, I haven't uploaded my pictures yet, but I'll be sure to write a big post soon overflowing with pictures and details of the trip.
Thanks again to Cristi, Joanna, Amy, and Kristin for watching my kids while I was gone. You guys are awesome!
